DARE SAY MULKEY MEADOW IS ONE OF THE FINEST FIELD sites in ecology. Each summer, a small band of ecologists known as Team Sagebrush hikes five miles into the Golden Trout Wilderness to share the meadow with marmots, mosquitoes and monkey-flowers. This was my second summer studying the effects of invading young sagebrush on meadow soils.
