FRIENDLY PACIFIC CREST TRAIL HIKER TOOK THIS picture of me near Horseshoe Meadow before I hiked into Mulkey Meadow. Mulkey is 9,500 feet high in the Golden Trout Wilderness of the Eastern Sierra Nevada. I'm continuing a research project that I began last summer on invasive sagebrush (most of the greenery in that picture). When I'm not at our backcountry field site in Mulkey, I'm living in a trailer at the White Mountain Research Station in Bishop, California.
