Kudos on the Ecosystems manuscript. Your story sounds surprisingly like what happened to me. We were going to try to do 2 publications, but after one was shot down pretty hard we just decided to combine them and Ecosystems accepted it right around the same time that they accepted yours. It looks like we might be in the same issue when it is finally in print!

Will you be at ESA this year? It’d be fun to see you if you’ll be around. I’m giving a talk about N2O emissions from agricultural ecosystems.
