Our tour guide, who kindly took an hour from his day to explain how the elevator works, told a fascinating story of the orders-of-magnitude increases in efficiency of grain processing and shipping during the decades that he has worked there. I don't remember the statistics, but the elevator at left holds a damn huge lot of grain.
