I surveyed macrolepidopteran moths at nine sites around Moorea to assess their diversity--three on the coast, two in the valleys, and four in the mountains. Studies have shown that on high volcanic islands, much of the insect diversity is found at higher elevations. My study compared the moth diversity of these three regions to see if Moorea is consistent with this trend.
