When we arrived in Hamburg, Germany, we were met by Birgit Bilici. We stayed with her and her new husband, Habip, who just moved to Germany from Turkey. Birgit was an au pair for my brother and me when we were 3 and 6 years old. She lived with the Darrouzet-Nardis for one year when she was 19.
